Taiwan Increases E-Waste Fees

taipei-taiwan-2057818_1920On 17 May 2019, the Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration (TEPA) published an amendment to adjust the fee rate for recycling, clearance and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and information technology equipment. The amendment increases the fee rate for televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioning equipment and printers. It also increases the fee rate for all 17 products listed in the Annex. A reduced fee rate will only apply to products certified as Green Mark Products. The increased fee rates will be progressively implemented from 1 July 2019 to 1 July 2021, through three stages.
