Background
In 2019, Marion’s team took ownership of product compliance and set out to map 200 products across 183 countries, including regulations and evidence. The scale quickly became unmanageable, leaving the team overwhelmed and far from their compliance goals.
The Challenge
- Identifying relevant regulations on complex government websites in different local languages was not practical.
- Interpreting regulations was too difficult for a non-legal team to interpret.
- Maintaining compliance evidence documentation (certifications and reports) that help prove they meet a regulation was an issue since they lived historically across different drives.
- Staying informed about evidence expiration to plan ahead was not possible since there was no way to figure out if a certain document is going to be expired in X years.
The tipping point for them to start looking for a better solution was when they couldn’t validate the accuracy of the information on the spreadsheet with the existing resources in the team.
The Solution
The team was introduced to Compliance & Risks in 2020 by a legal advisor they were working with. They were immediately excited to try out C2P since it could replace their ‘Compliance repository’ spreadsheet and solve all the challenges they were facing.
